Quality of Life

There has never been a better time to live, start or expand a business in the city of Austell!  Today the city focused on public safety, job creation, revitalization, infrastructure improvements, and expansion of parks and green space.

As Mayor, in an effort to improve 911 emergency response times we incorporated over 100 of unincorporated Cobb County parcels within the city limits, that has often led to confusion of which jurisdiction was closer.  By doing so, calls to 911 emergency dispatch in those areas will now go directly to Austell instead of Cobb County, saving precious seconds and minutes, which can make all the difference in life or property loss.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!  The city's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship has created an ecosystem conducive to the birth and nurturing of startups. Incubators, co-working spaces, and supportive initiatives have nurtured a culture of creativity and risk-taking, allowing budding entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into tangible enterprises. This not only fuels economic growth but also contributes to job creation and the ability to work and live in Austell.  Reducing commute times, and leaving more time for family, friends, and entertainment.

Austell's diverse economy and quality of life has been bolstered by targeted investments in key sectors. Infrastructure development, with the expansion and updates of water and sewer capacities, by eliminating sewer pump stations.  Parks, trails, and greenspace (which will almost be like an extension of a homeowner’s backyard).  And soon, Sweetwater Creek redevelopment which will  allow for boating and kayaking opportunities in Austell.

As Mayor the city is also committed to investments in education and workforce development. Austell partnered with educators, the business community, and faith based leaders to develop and run STEM and STEAM programming out the Austell Youth Innovation Center, so that our students can be leaders in the future economy of Georgia!

Nothing brings family and friends together like a good festival. Festivals like the Austell Labor Day Festival (September 2nd 12-10pm), BBQ, Blues and Brews Fest (October 7th from 12-10), Christmas Tree lighting (December 2nd) and events like this year’s highly successful Juneteenth event (June16-17th, have produced a lot of pride for our community.

As we look ahead, it is clear that Austell's trajectory is one of promise and potential. Austell stands as a shining example of how economic growth, and revitalization when rooted in strategic planning, innovation, and collaboration, can transform not just a city’s-built structure, but also the lives of its residents.  Together we can accomplish anything!
